Story replies and comment-to-DM: different Instagram workflows

Understand the difference between a Story response and a post comment before choosing an automation trigger.

Different events

A comment and a Story reply can both lead to Direct, but they are different events. Enabling a comment flow does not automatically enable Story-reply handling. Ask about the exact trigger, not just “Instagram automation”.

What iStori’s keyword flow describes

The current keyword scenario covers a selected publication, a comment and a prepared reply. Stories publishing is a separate task: sending content is not responding to a viewer’s reaction. Do not assume Story-reply automation exists just because Stories creation is available.

Describe the exact path

For example: “Someone replies LESSON to a Story and receives a resource link.” Explain whether you need one link, a question or a handoff. A demonstration under a post does not prove that the Story trigger works.

Test each trigger separately

Check the link, relevance of the message and option to continue with a person. Do not promise an unsupported trigger to your audience. Use a supported workflow until the required connection is available.
